Important news for everyone currently holding a student visa, or planning to apply.

Without prior warning, the application fee for the Temporary Graduate visa (subclass 485) has been doubled.

From 1 March 2026, the Department of Home Affairs has unexpectedly increased the visa application charges.

Updated fees – Subclass 485

🔱Primary applicant:

AUD 4,600 (previously AUD 2,300)

Additional applicant (18+):

AUD 2,300 (previously AUD 1,150)

Additional applicant (under 18):

AUD 1,160 (previously AUD 580)

🔱Second Subclass 485 visa

Primary applicant:

AUD 1,810 (previously AUD 905)

Additional applicant (18+):

AUD 910 (previously AUD 455)

Additional applicant (under 18):

AUD 460 (previously AUD 230)

 These changes significantly increase the cost of staying in Australia after graduation, so it is important to plan your visa pathway carefully.
