Recently, a client filed a complaint.
Question: “Today, my partner called a few Australian universities and was told that the Department hasn’t been issuing student visas to applicants over 30 for a long time. Why didn’t your agent mention this during the consultation?”
Answer: Because that’s not true.
✅ The Facts

Australia welcomes international students of all ages. There is no age limit for applying for a student visa.
Applicants over 30 (and even 40+) successfully receive student visas every year — as long as they can show that their main purpose is study and that their course choice is consistent with their career or education history.
📋 What really matters
To obtain a student visa, applicants must:
1️⃣ Demonstrate they are genuine students with a genuine intention to study (Genuine Student requirement).
2️⃣ Prove they have sufficient financial capacity to cover:
tuition fees,
living expenses in Australia, and
costs for accompanying family members (if applicable).
Funds must be enough to support the applicant for the entire course (if less than one year) or for at least one year of study (if the course is longer).
