PR visa tends to expire

ree

Having received the long-awaited status of a permanent resident of Australia, many PR visa holders believe that the goal has been achieved, all the worries and experiences are behind them, I am now a legal and permanent resident of Australia. Of course, this is true. However!

Despite the status of a permanent resident of Australia, the PR visa still has a limitation period, after which the visa will be considered invalid and entry into Australia will be restricted.

This does not mean that your status as a resident of Australia has ceased, but the document confirming your status and right of entry with an expired term will not allow you to legally cross the border.

That is, in order to enter Australia without hindrance (for example, after a holiday abroad), you must pay attention to the expiration date of your PR visa and, if necessary, apply to the Australian Department of Home Affairs for a returnable resident visa (RRV) BEFORE your intended entry into Australia.

Below is an example in the photo: PR visa 801, the holder has the right to freely enter Australia until 11/07/2028, however after this date, if he/she does not obtain the status of an Australian citizen, he/she will be required to apply for an RRV.
