Starting 18 June 2025, the Department of Home Affairs will be strengthening the security of ImmiAccount by introducing Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) for all users.
š What does this mean for you?Whether you're creating a new ImmiAccount or logging in to an existing one, youāll now need to set up MFA. Once enabled, MFA will be required each time you log in or make changes to your accountāadding an extra layer of protection beyond your password.

ā To get ready for this update, we recommend you:⢠Install an authenticator app (e.g. Google Authenticator or Microsoft Authenticator) on your phone or computer⢠Verify your email address, especially if you havenāt used your ImmiAccount in the last 6 months
ImmiAccount is the central platform for managing visa applications and accessing immigration services. MFA helps ensure your personal information remains secure and aligns with Australian Government cyber security standards.
š From 18 June, step-by-step setup instructions will be available in ImmiAccount.
