The Australian Department of Home Affairs has stopped accepting applications for the Skilled Graduate visa subclass 476 from 1 July 2024. This visa has been replaced by a new one - Temporary Graduate visa (subclass 485).
The new visa limits the age of the applicant, which is now a maximum of 35 years, with the exception of professionals with an academic degree, as well as citizens of the UK and Hong Kong. For this category of applicants, the age limit is 50 years.
The Temporary Graduate visa 485 is presented in two main streams
Post-Vocational Education Work stream - for students who have completed vocational education and above. The visa is issued for 18 months without the right to extend.
Post-Higher Education Work stream - for students who have completed a higher education or academic degree. The visa is issued for a period of 2-3 years, and there is also the possibility of extending the visa for another 1-2 years by applying for a visa within the additional Second Post-Higher Education Work stream.
We have covered the conditions of the Temporary Graduate visa subclass 485 in more detail on our website, on the Graduate visa page.
